  • Automatically research clients when they book

Manual Research

Running a Lookup

  1. Go to Client Intel in your dashboard
  2. Enter the client's name (required)
  3. Optionally add their email and/or company for better results
  4. Click Research
  5. Results typically appear within 30 seconds
Daily limit: 5 manual lookups per day. The limit resets at midnight in your timezone.

What You Get

Research results include (when available):

  • Job title and current role
  • Company name and description
  • Confidence score — how sure we are this is the right person
  • Talking points — conversation starters based on their background
  • Profile images — photos found online
  • LinkedIn profile link
  • Other social profiles when available
Better results: Adding an email address significantly improves match accuracy. Company name also helps distinguish people with common names.

Automatic Research

Set up automatic research so client info is ready before their session — no manual lookups needed.

Option 1: Booking Email

Forward booking notifications to a special email address:

  1. Go to Client Intel in your dashboard
  2. Your unique booking email is shown on the page: research-[key]@studioflows.app
  3. In your booking platform, add this email as a notification recipient
  4. When clients book, the notification is forwarded and research runs automatically

Option 2: Direct Webhook

For platforms that support webhooks:

  1. Go to Client Intel in your dashboard
  2. Copy your webhook URL (shown below the booking email)
  3. Add it to your booking platform's webhook settings
  4. Research runs when a booking is created

Any platform that sends booking notification emails or supports webhooks can work — use the booking email method or the generic webhook format.

Research States

State Meaning
Pending Research is queued and will run shortly
Researching... Research is actively running
Complete Results are ready to view
Failed An error occurred — try again

Caching

Research results are cached for 30 days. During this time:

  • Repeat lookups for the same person return cached results instantly
  • Cached lookups don't count toward your daily limit
  • After 30 days, a new lookup fetches fresh data

Best Practices

  • Set up automatic research so you never forget to look up a client
  • Review results the day before a session — note talking points
  • Use talking points naturally — mention shared interests to build rapport
  • Check confidence scores — lower scores may indicate a different person with the same name
Photographer tip: Clients love when you know a bit about them before the session. Even a simple "I saw you work at [Company] — great work!" goes a long way toward building rapport.
