AI Smart Cropping
Every platform wants a different shape. Smart Cropping reframes each photo for each platform you post to — keeping your subject centered — so you upload one image and it looks right everywhere.
Why it exists
Post the same photo to Instagram and X/Twitter without cropping, and one of them will cut off someone's head. Instagram favors square and tall framing; X/Twitter favors wide. Stories are taller still.
Instead of exporting four versions of every photo, you upload one. StudioFlows finds the subject and generates a properly framed version for each platform in your post.
When it runs
Smart Cropping applies to photos going out through the Social Scheduler:
- Auto-posting: photos scheduled automatically on your posting schedule
- Hot Folder: photos you drop into your watched desktop folder
- Drag-and-drop uploads into the scheduler
Photos are cropped only for the platforms you've actually selected for that post.
Settings
All of these live in Settings → Social.

| TikTok music | On by default. Adds a trending sound to auto-scheduled TikTok photo posts, single or carousel. Off posts plain photos with no music. |
Turning it off
If you've already cropped your photos exactly how you want them, switch Smart Cropping off:
- Go to Settings → Social
- Switch off AI Smart Cropping
Your original file is then posted unchanged to every platform. Keep in mind each platform will still apply its own cropping to fit its layout — turning this off means you're choosing to let them do it rather than StudioFlows.
Supported formats
JPG, PNG, and WebP. The post composer also accepts MP4 and MOV video — video isn't cropped, so upload it in the aspect ratio you want it published in.

Troubleshooting
The crop cut off something important
- Smart Cropping centers on the main subject. If your photo has several people spread wide, it may favor one group.
- Fix it by cropping that photo yourself before upload, or switch Smart Cropping off for full control.
My X/Twitter posts are the wrong shape
Check Settings → Social → X/Twitter Crop Orientation — it's set to landscape by default.
Stories aren't going out
Stories need Include Stories switched on in Settings → Social, and the post has to target Instagram or Facebook — those are the only two platforms with Stories.
My photo posted uncropped
Either Smart Cropping is switched off in Settings, or the post was created manually in the composer with your own crop already applied.
